Several new cases of West Nile virus were reported this week, including a 26-year-old black woman and a 64-year-old white man, both from the city of St. Louis. Illinois announced new cases in a man in his 50s from Naperville in DuPage County and a 33-year-old man from Geneva in Kane County.

A busy intersection in West Chicago is scheduled to get a roughly $9.4 million makeover next year to improve the flow of traffic between Kane and DuPage counties. DuPage County Board members this week approved an agreement with the Illinois Department of Transportation for intersection improvements and traffic signal modernization at Fabyan Parkway and Route 38.
